
Most Anticipated Games Coming in 2018
While 2017 had a slew of awesome titles releasing throughout the year, 2018 is shaping up to be right on par with it; if not better. There are plenty of releases all across the console board, so let’s take a look a few of the most anticipated games coming our way in 2018.

A Way Out
A true dedicated co-op title is coming in 2018 from developers Hazelight, and it features close-knit tactics and strategy to help a duo escape from prison and continue their efforts together on the run. From the same creative mind behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, A Way Out is looking to turn the tides in favor of the couch co-op style of gameplay that has been so unfavorably ignored over the years. Look for A Way Out to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, scheduled for March 23rd, 2018.

The Crew 2
Ubisoft dipped into the racing world with their 2014 release of The Crew. Taking players across a condensed open world of the entire USA, players could seamlessly race through different climates, landscapes and major cities that dotted the US. With a strong following covering this MMO open world racer, Ubisoft is delivering even more the wide open lands of The Crew. Introducing air and water racers, The Crew 2 will not only add planes and boats to the racing scene, but will allow players to switch between the different racing machines mid-race. Look for the next installment of Ubisoft’s racing series to release on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC sometime in mid-2018.

Days Gone
The open world of zombie survivors is a plenty in 2018, with Days Gone coming exclusively to the PS4 console. From the creative minds of the original Syphon Filter series, SIE Bend Studios, Days Gone has been in the public’s eye since 2015. Players are eager to get their hands on this massive sandbox zombie title where they’ll be able to explore, craft and survive in a game that we all hope to see sometime in 2018 for the PS4.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
The JRPG series of Ni no Kuni presents a remarkable journey through surreal lands in a whimsical tale. Players roam through vast worlds in discovering villages and dungeons, taking part in strategic battles. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom brings a few new changes to the formula, most notably the style of combat. Going from a unique JRPG style of combat to the more popular westernized battle mechanics, Ni no Kuni II looks to be an awesome release for the PS4 console. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is set to release on March 23rd, 2018.

Detroit: Become Human
From the game director who brought fans the dramatic events of Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Indigo Prophecy – developers Quantic Dream are teasing the life out of sony fans everywhere with trailers of their upcoming thriller – Detroit: Become Human. This QTE filled, cinematic title is looking to up the ante even further for the veteran developer. Check for Detroit: Become Human to release exclusively on the PS4, sometime in early to mid 2018.

Crackdown 3
The Xbox One is getting a sizeable list of console exclusive titles in 2018, and near the top of that list is the highly anticipated Crackdown 3. This highly destructible open world action game has been pushed back enough already, now with fans eagerly awaiting the next release in the Crackdown series. Hopefully we’ll finally be getting a solid release of Crackdown 3 this coming Spring 2018, hitting the Xbox One and PC.

Dreams
The developers from the outstanding platformer, LittleBigPlanet, have been subtly hinting at their next potential masterpiece – Dreams. Media Molecule has coined their term ‘Play, Create, Share’ in their hit LBP series, but is also keen on bringing this concept back to the playing ground in Dreams. Explore the various ‘Dream’ levels and solve the many puzzles that await in the surreal world. We can hope to see Dreams released sometime in 2018 on the PS4 console.

Far Cry 5
The Far Cry series has gone through plenty of unique settings across the almost 15-year-old franchise. Now taking a step away from the tropical and prehistoric landscapes, Ubisoft is taking Far Cry 5 to the good ‘ole US of A. Set in the back country of the fictional Hope County, Montana, players will take down the villainous cult leader in a brand new release in the series. Far Cry 5 is set to release on March 27th, 2018 on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves is a unique spin on MMO action titles. Placing players in the midst of a piratey adventure on the seas, players will partake in online ship battles and looting. With a deep perspective on the pirate life, and colorfully unique visuals, Sea of Thieves is a huge step forward for the otherwise dry line-up of Xbox exclusive titles. Check out this distinct online pirate title releasing on the Xbox One and PC, coming on March 20th, 2018.

Project Octopath Traveler
This turn-base JRPG title is shaping up to be a truly unique experience on the Nintendo Switch console. Taking on the role of a crew of adventurers, Project Octopath Traveler will take players on a campaign brimming with strategy, deep combat and unique abilities for each character. Many fans have indulged in the demo on Nintendo’s eShop while eagerly awaiting its launch, which is said to be sometime in 2018.

MediEvil
The remake of sony’s own Crash Bandicoot last year proved to be a major success, revisiting the timeless platforming classics from the early years of the Playstation console. recently announced, Sony is at it again, this time bringing back the adventures of Sir Daniel Fortesque – MediEvil. Not much as been released on this outstanding remake, but long-time fans are as eager as ever to ge their hands on this highly anticipated Sony title. though no official release date has been announced, we can bet to see this released sometime in 2018.

Dragon Ball FighterZ
The world of Dragon Ball Z is a vibrant and thrilling one. Though many of us on major consoles has seen the anime series go through its own visions of success, with titles like Budokai, and most recently the Xenoverse series, only the owners of the Nintendo DS has seen the excellent 2D stylings of Arc System Works and their take on the DBZ franchise. That is soon changing with the exciting release of Dragon Ball FighterZ, a 2D tag-team fighter that is looking to pack as fierce of a punch as the series itself. Releasing on the PS4, Xbox One and PC, Dragon Ball FighterZ is releasing on January 26th.

Monster Hunter: World
The Monster Hunter franchise has one of the biggest cult followings in the gaming community. Embarking on epic adventures to track and capture dangerous beasts across a vast open world, Monster Hunter is making its appearance on major consoles for the first time in about a decade. Monster Hunter: World is looking to be an awesome experience, both for single players and those looking to enjoy online multiplayer. Monster Hunter: World is hitting shelves on January 26th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

State of Decay 2
This zombie survival title is bringing back the horrors of living through a dangerous, undead land. With an emphasis on cooperative gameplay, fans will scavenge the open world taking out hordes of zombies with friends online. Playing with up to 3 co-op partners, this third person survivor game is exactly what the console needs in its lineup. Yet another solid Xbox console exclusive, State of Decay 2 is setting up to release in 2018.

Spider-Man
The web-slinging super hero hasn’t made a major appearance in the video game world in quite some time, and the creative minds at Insomniac Games are showing off their latest installment of the spidey franchise. Spider-Man is releasing exclusively for the PS4 and is one of the major titles setting Sony up for another awesome year of releases. Swing across the open world New York City as the modern Spider-Man and deal with the responsibilities of undertaking the super hero role supposedly coming in the first half of 2018.

Anthem
Bioware has been teasing about their new upcoming IP, Anthem, and is looking to engage in the online multiplayer market with a bang. Equipping the mighty Javelin power suit, players will fly through vast open worlds in a far distant future. Everyone is curious how Bioware will bounce back from their lack luster release of Mass Effect Andromeda, and Anthem looks like an excellent ticket out of the doghouse. For now, Anthem is set to release in late 2018, on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

God of War
The God of War franchise is a massive hit throughout the gaming community. Sony is gearing up to reintroduce the series with a brand new setting and story. Kratos is now a father and will guide his son throughout the ancient lands of Norse Mythology. The game will be introducing never-before-seen mechanics not typically found in the franchise, such as various RPG elements, a semi-open world to explore, the ability to subtly control Kratos’ son – Atreus, and a more personal approach to the camera angle. God of War is set to release exclusively on the PS4 system, out in early 2018.

Red Dead Redemption 2
Without question, Rockstar’s newest title set to release in 2018 – Red Dead Redemption 2 – is high on many fans 2018 list. Taking fans back to the days of the wild west, players are eager to dip back into the dangerous lifestyle of the outlaw, Arthur Morgan. While the single player open world is sure to set new standards for what it takes to tell a compelling story set in an exciting historical setting, what Rockstar does with the online multiplayer is equally exciting. While Red Dead Redemption 2 has already seen a couple of pushbacks so far, players are still expected to see this highly anticipated title release sometime in 2018, on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
While these are the hottest games that are most likely to release in 2018, there are tons of other excellent looking titles that still don’t have dates that may come out in 2018. Big names like The Last of Us Part II, Kingdom Hearts 3, Death Stranding, the new Pokemon RPG and the Final Fantasy VII Remake, these titles will probably see 2019 or later release dates. One thing is certain, there are still lots of exciting titles coming in 2018.
