Classic titles in the Xbox Game Pass

Business & Industry

Microsoft has just released the Xbox Game Pass for all Xbox One users and it’s comes with a small surprise. There are several classic retro games included in the mix.

Fans of retro games should be pleased by the selection of retro games in the Xbox Game Pass. There’s a nice range to keep players busy however, it’s missing quite a few classic titles. Such as Contra/Probotector and Zombies Ate My Neighbours. Despite this, retro fans should find enough to keep them busy for a month.

The Capcom Arcade Cabinet is a gateway to a range of retro games such as Ghosts ‘N’ Goblins and Legendary Wings. However, if you want to play these games you’ll need to purchase them as they’re classed as being ‘add ons’. Luckily, the Xbox Game Pass provides a 10% discount on all DLC purchases. Anyone looking to grab one of these DLC retro games should do so before the 14 day free trial is up. All games purchased during the free trial are kept permanently so it may be worth getting the Xbox Game Pass just for the discounted purchases.

There’s more than just the Capcom Arcade Cabinet though for retro fans to sink their teeth into. Here are all the retro games currently in the Xbox Game Pass:

  • Banjo-Kazooie
  • Banjo Kazooei N n B
  • Banjo-Tooie
  • Double Dragon Neo
  • Comix Zone
  • DIG DUG
  • Mega Man Legacy Collection
  • Pac-Man Museum
  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • Alex Kidd & Co
  • Golden Axe
  • Monster World
  • Streets of Rage

So there’s a nice selection of retro games available right now. Microsoft has also confirmed that they will be rotating games in and out every month. It’s uncertain if this means we’ll see more classic retro games coming to the service. Hopefully Microsoft will make some announcements later this month regarding retro games.

We will update you when we learn more.
