GFINITY Elite Series Season 2 Starts Next Month
It’s been revealed that Gfinity Elite Series will be returning next month for the second season. The first season reached 3 million viewers where gamers all over the world tuned in to watch the different games being played. Here’s everything we know about this tournament.
For those who missed the first season, it was broadcast on the BBC during the summer. The games played during the event were Street Fighter V, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Rocket League. These three games will also be the stars of the second season of the Gfinity Elite Series.
Season Two will be starting on October 6th and will be ending on December 9th later this year. The rough time schedule for this event has already been announced however, it’s not very specific:
Friday – Street Fighter V
Saturday – Rocket League in the morning and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the evening
So there won’t be anything on the Sunday this time.
The Challenger Series 3 has officially kicked off now which allows amateur players to compete and build up points to earn the right to be drafted into one of the eight organisations taking part. So even you could take part and fight for the chance to compete on stage. Full details on this are available in this Twitter post from the official Gfinity account here.
The competition will be returning to the Gfinity Esports Arena in West London and will feature over 100 competitors. It’s thought that the previous £225,000 prize pool will be returning for players to fight over in-game.
The BBC will be broadcasting the event on BBC iPlayer, their online service and BT Sport should also be broadcasting the event. More details on this will be released as the tournament dates come closer over the next few weeks. We will provide you with an update once we learn more.
