Retro gaming festival Geek Trader 3 takes place today
The Retro gaming festival Geek Trader 3 is finally here and UK gamers can experience and re-play classic Retro games. The event is returning for one day only and the event floor will be filled with retro consoles and free to play arcade machines. This event is the only one of its kind in Hull and is one of the few retro gaming events in the world.
While the organisers haven’t confirmed what games will be at the event, they have posted a picture. This picture features several prominent characters such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. It can be assumed then that these games will be available on the show floor. However, there will also be a range of other attractions.
It’s been confirmed that there will be merchandise “spread across 60+ tables”. This includes: Retro video games, collectibles, comics & movie merchandise and modern games. In addition to this, there will also be competitions and contests taking place throughout the day.
The organisers have confirmed however that there will be food and refreshments. The fully licenced bar on site will also be selling alcoholic drinks in addition to soft drinks. For younger children there will also be a bouncy castle and a coloring competition to keep them occupied.
Geek Trader 3 is being held at St Mary’s College in Hull and is open to everyone. Entry for the event costs just £2 at the door however, under 16’s get free entry. It’s also possible to pre-book a ticket online here for £2.50 to avoid the long queue at the door. There are no age restrictions on the event but anyone looking to drink alcohol should bring a form of identification for the bar.
The event will be taking place between 10am and 4pm today so anyone interested and able to attend the event should get over to Hull as quickly as possible.
