Xbox Game Pass is finally here
Xbox Game Pass was released last week for Xbox Live Gold members. Microsoft has now announced that the service is finally available for all Xbox One users. The new Netflix-like subscription based service is now available for everyone.
Starting today, everyone can sign up for a 14-day free trial of the new service. While this service is being compared to Netflix, it is slightly different. Users won’t be streaming games to their console. Instead, they’ll be downloading the games and launching it from the console as if they own it. This means that players looking to download quite a lot of games may want to consider getting an external harddrive for all the games.
There are more than 100 confirmed games in the Xbox Game Pass. The games are a mix of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games A full list of the game included in the program are now available on the official website here.
Here are some of the titles included in the Xbox Game Pass:
- Halo 5: Guardians
- Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
- Payday 2
- BioShock trilogy
- Lego Batman
- NBA 2K16
- Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
- Layers of Fear
- Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse
- Borderlands
- DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition
- ScreamRide
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Microsoft has confirmed that it has plans to add new games every month. However, these new games will be replacing some games which will be rotated out. It’s also possible to purchase games which are in the Xbox Game Pass.
Players can purchase a game to own it permanently. However, Xbox Game Pass members will be able to save 20% on the game and an additional 10% on any DLC. While this sounds great, it’s only available for Xbox One games. Anyone looking to purchase a Xbox 360 game will need to pay full price.
Anyone interested on the Xbox Game Pass can sign up here. However, Microsoft has also confirmed that subscription cards will be coming to retailers soon.
